Kate Moore, DNP, RNDr. Kate Moore, RN, DNP, CCRN, CEN, ACNP-BC, ANP-BC, GNP, BC is an Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Nursing. She also serves as in the US Army Reserve, holding the rank of Colonel in the Army Nurse Corps and is the Adjutant Officer for the 4203rd US Army Hospital, Nashville, TN. COL Moore served with the 10th Combat Support Hospital in Baghdad, Iraq from September 2005 until November 2006. Dr. Moore performs research in the areas of volume resuscitation in trauma patients, hypothermia in trauma and improving access to trauma care. Her work also includes disaster planning.
Dr. Moore completed the Doctor of Nursing Practice program at Case Western Reserve University with her research in controlled volume resuscitation in pre-hospital trauma. She is presently a PhD candidate at the University of Kentucky, researching early recognition of occult hypoperfusion. She also holds degrees from Vanderbilt University, Tennessee State University, Middle Tennessee State University and Columbia State Community College.
She is triple board certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, an Adult Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and a Gerontologic Nurse Practitioner. Her clinical practice at the University of Kentucky is with the Trauma and Surgical Critical Care service. Dr. Moore also volunteers as a provider at Mission Lexington and travels throughout South and Central America working as a provider.
