Multidisciplinary Critical Care Knowledge Assessment Program (MCCKAP)
Exam Dates: February 28 to March 8, 2013

Assess your critical care fellowship program with the Multidisciplinary Critical Care Knowledge Assessment Program (MCCKAP) online exam. Offered nationally every spring, the MCCKAP exam allows program directors to:

  • Prepare fellows for the subspecialty board examinations in critical care
  • Identify specific areas of strengths and weaknesses for each fellow in their study of critical care with lists of references and key terms for missed questions
  • Receive results for each inpidual fellow and the overall program as well as the institution’s national ranking

Available in both adult and pediatric formats, the exam is offered exclusively online and consists of 200 multiple-choice questions pertaining to critical care knowledge and patient management based on national standards. Exam content is developed by multiprofessional critical care professionals experienced in exam preparation and analysis.

Immediate preliminary scores and analysis are available to the examinee and the corresponding program director upon completion of the test. Final results are available approximately five weeks after exam week.

Proctor's Page
Proctors are able to see the progress of their fellows in real time and access raw scores immediately upon student completion through the proctor's page. The proctor's page also provides access to a subject-by-subject breakdown of fellows' performance.

Student Enrollment Process
Once exams have been ordered, proctors enter their fellows' names and emails on the proctor's page. Whenever a fellow is scheduled to take the exam, the proctor can send login information with the click of a button.

Presentation Format
The MCCKAP online exams are presented as a 4-hour, timed multiple-choice test with accompanying graphics including diagnostic imaging, monitoring waveforms, and photomicrographs. The exam is given in English and requires a connection to the Internet. The program is best viewed using Internet Explorer, although it may also be viewed using other browsers. The program is not currently compatible with Apple Mobile OS (i.e., iPad, iPhone).

No CE/CME is provided by SCCM for this program.
