Resident ICU AICU PICU Programs
Learn ICU

Program Directors Course Registration

Program Directors may register for one or both Resident ICU courses (i.e., AICU and PICU), however if registering for both courses please complete a separate application form and use a different Program Name for each course.

Do not register in this section if you do not intend to serve as a RICU Site Director. RICU Site Directors will receive program approval within 48 hours of SCCM receiving your request. If you do not receive the request within 48 hours, contact Trish Glover at pglover@sccm.org or Ginger Johnston at vjohnston@sccm.org. Multiple registration requests will result in processing delays or may cause registration problems.

Additional Information for Program Directors

You have the option to view the course material and then take the tests, exactly like your students do. You will be able to identify quickly the courses you have completed by looking for the filled circle. An empty circle indicates the course has not been started while a semi-filled circle indicates the course has been accessed.  Please scroll down this screen to read more about the course.

Pre-and Post-Tests

The pre-test for your selected RICU course automatically displays on your initial login to the program. Completion of the pre-test is required prior to accessing any of the course lectures. You can stop and start the pre-test at any time. The test automatically places a bookmark at the last answered question and allows you to continue the test without the penalty of having to restart the test. Additional features have been built into the pre- and post-tests to allow the learner to immediately see the test results.

Lesson Screens

The AICU and PICU courses have updated materials and a new display format; some even include voiceovers and/or speaker notes. Course materials are constantly being enhanced and upgraded on an ongoing basis. In the near future, users will have more opportunity for interactive learning within the course itself through quizzes and case studies. Another change to the lesson format is the five introductory screens. They include an overview of the topic content, author/presenter introduction, author disclaimers, learning objections, and key words.  As with the pre- and post-test features, users will be able to bookmark their location within the topic and have the opportunity to start at the point where they left off or restart the lesson from the beginning.

Student Enrollment Process

This course permits your students/residents/staff to self-enroll in your program, thus saving you time.  Simply copy the link you were sent in your Welcome email into an email to each individual you wish to enroll.  When the individual clicks on this link, a registration screen displays with your program’s name at the top. Upon completion of the registration process, a welcome email is sent to the individual with instructions for accessing the course presentations.

If you prefer, you can register your students/residents/staff by clicking on the link provided above and entering an enrollee’s information. Repeat the process of opening the link and entering each enrollee. After enrollment is completed, each enrollee receives a welcome email and course access instructions.

Tip: You may want to bookmark this link to prevent losing the information.

Program Director’s Dashboard

Using the Program Director Dashboard, you can monitor your residents’ participation in the program; you can track the number of presentations viewed by each resident. Access your Program Director’s Dashboard information by clicking on the link found in your Welcome letter.

Tip: You may want to bookmark this link for quick access to your students' progress and to prevent losing the information.

Others needing access to the Dashboard: If you have others (e.g., department heads, section heads, administrative assistants, etc.) within your department who will need access to this dashboard, you may share the link with them. There is no need for them to register for the program.
